The in-residence immersion begins at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, March 31, and outside of meal breaks for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, we will be together:
- Tuesday: Registration: 4-6:30 pm | Opening session: 7:00 pm – 9:30/10 pm
- Wednesday-Saturday: sunrise – 9/10 pm
- Sunday: sunrise – 9/9:30 am
FAQ
Do I need a certain level of experience before taking this course? A Masters of Wisdom & Meditation Certification is required for acceptance into the Deeper Still program.
Where does the training take place? You will experience the natural and peaceful setting at the Meditation Nest, a private retreat just steps from the sand, overlooking the Pacific Ocean in Carlsbad, Calif. We call this the “SweeSpot of the Universe.” It’s a 30-minute drive from the San Diego International Airport by taxi, car service or rental car, which you will need to arrange. You will receive detailed driving instructions and an address in your registration confirmation packet.
How much is tuition, and what does it include? Standard tuition is $3,575. We offer a flexible payment plan to help you plan your journey. Tuition includes a course syllabus, required reading list and online webinar schedule. You will have a one-on-one Zoom call session with davidji. When you’ve completed the training and your in-residence week, you will take home a Deeper Still Advanced Meditation Teacher Certificate, course workbook, and exclusive access to the Advanced Teacher’s Resource Center. Travel, lodging and meals are not included in the cost of tuition.
Are there exams? There will not be a test or exam, however all Teachers in Training must submit a term paper prior to our in-residence week at the Meditation Nest . Details and instructions for this will be discussed during the training.
Will there be guest teachers or other activities scheduled? Together we will practice several different styles of yoga and meditation every morning and evening. There will also be guest speakers and instructors.
What should I pack? Comfortable, casual clothes such as yoga pants, sweats, flip flops and running shoes. Layers are good in case the weather turns chilly, which happens often on the coast. Other items to pack: a blank journal, light reading, toiletries and any comforts of home.
Can I bring my own food? There is limited space for you to store your personal food. Light snacks and beverages will be available to you daily. We will provide you with recommended local eateries and information.
Will I have designated free time? The schedule is pretty full, but you will have time for reflection, personal journaling and meals on your own.
How many people are enrolled in each training? To allow for the most personal connection among students and davidji during the months leading up to our week together, we close registration at around 30 students.
Will the training ever be moved to the East Coast or Europe? There is always that possibility, and we are forever open to opportunities.
Where can I stay during the in-residence training? Attendees are encouraged to stay either at the Meditation Nest or at one of the many hotels within easy walking distance to better immerse in the program, which begins at sunrise each day and ends well after sunset. Rooms in the Nest range from $250 per night for shared accommodations to $335 for private rooms, are sold on a first-come-first-serve basis, and sell out quickly. If you wish to stay on site, remaining rooms available will pop up during the registration process so you can choose and pay for your lodging at that time. Unfortunately, we are not able to offer a refund or credit for cancelled room bookings. Please contact our Events Manager at nancy@davidji.com for information.
Many students also choose to stay at one of the hotels close to the Nest; three hotels in particular are within two blocks of the Meditation Nest. The Carlsbadinn.com is a nice hotel literally across the street; the beachterraceinn.com is on the beach and is also very nice; and oceanpalms.com is the most affordable and across the street from the Nest.
Payment Plans and Cancellation
Our goal is to help make the planning process for your retreat as seamless as possible. That’s why we have set up a convenient monthly payment plan option that you may choose during registration. You may cancel your registration within 7 days of the day you registered and receive a full refund, unless you have opted for a payment plan. Payments made through our payment plans are non-refundable at any time if you cancel.

If you have to cancel after the grace period, don’t fret! After the seven day period, or if you have selected a payment plan, you will receive a credit voucher for a future Signature davidji Event, as long as the cancellation is more than 14 days prior to the event. Credit vouchers must be used within 18 months of your original registration date and are not eligible for use for all-inclusive retreats. Please note that we are unable to offer a refund or credit for room bookings at any time.
All cancellations must be requested via email to nancy@davidji.com. Guests who register within two weeks of the event date are not eligible for a refund at any time if they choose to cancel.
Credit vouchers must be used within 18 months of your original registration date. If you cancel 30 days prior to the start of training or at any point during your training, you may re-enroll in a future training session within 18 months for a $1000 transfer fee.
To re-enroll, you will be required to complete all the required components of the training certification, including attendance during the in-residence certification week, so you are current with the teachings and actively engaged with the group that you will attend the in-residence certification week with. This involvement includes monthly webinars, weekly lessons and a reading list. All changes/cancellations must be requested via email to nancy@davidji.com
